A Leader

History is full of examples where suffering was brought to people of one or more countries by people from another country. Most often at the back of these selfish actions have been short-sigthed leaders who had looked only at the needs of the countries and, certainly at their own individual, and not at the world general. Such leaders have often caused devastation and misery not only to other countries but, eventually, to their own as well. A person who wears the mantle of leadership, of any country or society, must think beyond the needs of his own country. A leader who thinks of the region will uplift the whole region; a leader who thinks of the world will uplift the world.

To take a fictitious example, suppose that the leader of a certain country affliated his people with a powerful world power, in order to enrich the country, without regarding the interests of his neighbours, the result may not be upsetting to the others in the region; whose best interests may not be served by such an affliation. The country or countries affected by the alliance may take steps, even leading to war, to protect their own interests. We saw this happen in the Cuban Crisis. It almost led to World War 3 when Fidel Castro agreed to a Russian military base on Cuba, at the doorstep of the US. If Khrushchev had not backed down, there could have risen a situation that would have led to untold devastation to the world.

On the other hand we have the ASEAN leaders, making decisions which could uplift the region as a whole. A whole list of measures have been put together, in areas ranging from trade to co-operation in intelligence with regard to terrorists. They have been implemanted to ensure the growth and prosperity of the region as a whole. The areas of co-operation keep growing to the delight of the people of the countries who see each other as friends and neighbours rather then rivals. It greatly pleases people of the region when they see their leaders taking united positions on matters that would enrich everyone's lives.

Another example occurred earlier in history. During World War One and again during World War Two, the US government made decisions to rescue Europe from German onslaught. These decisions were certainly beyond the needs of the US. The Germans would never have reached the US, though the Japanese did the devastating effect. Though the US could have just invaded japan, its leaders chose to help to overcome the germans first. This certainly helped turn the tides in both wars. The leaders in both situations acted as world leaders, for good of the world, rather than for their own country's narrow interests, Their actions certainly brought a better world which benefited the US as well as the world.

All humanity is co-dependent . It makes for more peace for all leaders make decisions for the good of the world at least as much as for their own countries.

A Hectic Month

These days are really hectic. Sometimes, I feel in the lap of luxury, remorseful and perhaps furious. Everyday, I go to school to take a new challenge, making every best that I can make out. I need to overcome my fatigue, trying to be awaken.

Just to update what is up-coming in my school, there are really vast of activities. One of the immense challenges is Outward Bound Singapore for one week camp. I was beaming from ear to ear when I heard the news. Another project is biotechnology project which offers a lucrative amount of money ( 1K ). It will be held in Nanyang polytechnic.

An enhanting news came from headmistress that our school is organising racial harmony day. I was assingned for the exhibition of malay culture, games for bola tin and a dance. It was an inexorable nightmare. However, I'm still considering whether to go for video taking form mediacorp or go for cheer 2008. Friends, if there is any opinion which should I choose?

For CIP, our class are visiting to old folks home. We are singing some old songs for them. Since this is my first time, I think it would be a great experience. Anyway, as a human being, we need to compete with the globalisation world, we must be resolute, audacious, exuberant and prudent in every decision we make for the future generation.

Mid-year examination

Exam just started on Monday. I could feel the heat boiling in my mind. It was English paper. The hardest subject in the entire exam for us.

When I got into the class, waiting for just few minutes. Then, the exam started. By the way, this was the first test paper in Singapore. I tried to overcome my fear and determined to eradicate from this test paper. I remained unfazed by the flood of quetions and unbothered the tension in the room.

As I was doing the paper two, this was a monumental task. It was answering VOCABULARY question. Despite being puzzled and a trifle concerned, I tried my best to answer the question carefully like playing guessing game.

At last the paper was over. It was a sheer bliss able to get over it. This week would be Mother Tongue, social studies and Elemantary Maths. Next week, it would be Add maths, geogaraphy, chemistry, physics and biolagy. There is still long way to go.

While the road may still look steep, there is hope. I hope friends in Malaysia and Singapore good luck and " blossom more beautiful flowers " in your coming examination.

My new life

This my new life in Singapore. A beautiful country with diverse cultures. I guess you guys want to know what i am doing here?

In the blink of an eye, I am already in Singapore for 4 months. It was an enduring momeries with you all in Malaysia. Thanks a lot guys.

Actually, i felt nerveless when i stepped into my school. i thought it was a miserable day because i don't recognise anyone in the school.
Subsequently, my classmates approached me and said 'hi'. Then,we started talking and and knowing each other better.

Then how is the teacher over here? They are damm hardworking and diligent. I bet they have strong teaching bias.

Now, my CCA is floorball. Floorball is a game like hockey. But the ball is much smaller and lighter. You just need to control the ball and shot on target. We had competition among schools. We had played with northbrooks, presbetyrian and NUS high. The teams were egregious. I had a painful lesion on my ankle when i played with the teams.

That's all for now.
